Dr. Takácsi-Nagy Zoltán

My name is Dr. Zoltán Takácsi-Nagy. I was born in 1969 in Székesfehérvár, and I currently work at the Department of Radiotherapy at the National Institute of Oncology in Budapest. I am married and recognized as one of Hungary’s leading radiotherapy specialists. I graduated in Medicine from Semmelweis University in 1993 and obtained a specialist qualification in healthcare management in 2024. I am board-certified in radiotherapy and clinical oncology.

My career began as a resident at the Department of Radiotherapy, followed by continuous advancement to senior physician and division head; I am currently Chief Physician of the center. I also hold the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Radiotherapy at Semmelweis University. My scientific work was pursued at the PhD level, and I further contributed to the academic community with a habilitation.

I have participated in numerous professional trainings in several European countries, especially in the fields of radiotherapy and brachytherapy. I am a member of several national and international scientific societies and play an active role in health policy, professional committees, and consultancy activities.

My main research area is the radiotherapy of head and neck cancers—particularly interstitial radiotherapy—and I lead several clinical trials. In education, I am involved in both secondary and university-level teaching, as well as exam committees for specialty certification.

I have organized numerous congresses and scientific events and have contributed to the development of several professional protocols. I am actively engaged in international collaborations, with the goal of advancing radiotherapy and broadening its clinical applications.

I have received several professional awards, including best presenter and best poster prizes. My scientific publications have appeared in more than one hundred Hungarian and English-language journals, and I have authored multiple book chapters and study notes. I am dedicated to teaching and to the healing of patients, and I continuously strive to apply the latest research findings and treatment methods in my professional work.
