Dr. Hufnágl Ágnes

I completed my studies at Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, but I worked continuously at the National Ambulance Service Center already as a university student. As a paramedic, I learned the importance of making quick and decisive decisions.

After receiving my diploma, I worked for seven years in internal medicine at South Pest Hospital and in the oncology department at St. Stephen Hospital as a physician preparing for specialist exams. After obtaining my internal medicine specialist qualification, I had a brief stint in the pharmaceutical industry.

In 2001, I started working at a primary care practice in Budapest’s 12th district, where I have cared for the health of approximately 1,600 patients over more than twenty-four years. With two specialist qualifications and decades of experience, I firmly believe that any disease can only be overcome and healed through cooperation with the patient. I strive to explain to everyone what is happening in their body and why.

I am convinced that people are more motivated if they understand what they need to do for their body’s well-being. Problems should not be treated with magical Latin terms, strict orders, or a handful of medications, but holistically, “hand-in-hand” with the patient to find the root cause and try to solve it. I believe that lifestyle changes and proper nutrition can prevent more serious illnesses.

I also see it as my duty to explain test results to patients and to actively support those who often feel lost in accessing appropriate specialist care and treatment.
